Effectivity of Education
We are all in the middle of a pandemic. People are losing their lives, some fortunately recovered. Hard workers sacrificing their lives such as doctors, nurses, polices, teachers and other front liners. Poor ones suffering from poverty but still working just to provide their own family’s needs. Majority of schools all around the world are affected and forced to close due to this pandemic. Several months here in the Philippines, the Department of Education and other private schools decided to open and continue schooling. Is it really effective though?
We can say that the privileged ones; gifted in terms of wealth and intelligence, would be fine with this kind of education. Our school wondered whether they are going to implement online learning or just pray that the pandemic would go away. Since we are in a public school, they chose both online and printed modular learnings, both rich and poor ones are benefited. The problem is, how about the ones that are not gifted with intelligence, slow-learner and the students that are working for their families? Personally, this is not effective for them, I am one of those “slow-learners” especially mathematics. I thought of stopping with this school year but I do not want to be left behind. Google is easy to search they say, but it is not enough for me to learn. But in other subjects, there are no problems so I can manage it alone. If I were to rate this education, it would be 50/50 or neutral.
I know that the teachers are trying their best to teach us and I believe that we are; the youth, the future of this country. I deeply appreciate the hard work and dedication of teachers all around the world and I hope that they will strengthen their passion and faith as well as students in order to defeat this pandemic.

I like your empathy to those who doesn't have that much of an access to the learning standards for the new normal. I, too, have a difficulty in the subject Mathematics. I hope you can get through it too!

ReplyDeleteHello, Russel! I agree how ineffective our type of learning may be now that we are currently facing a global pandemic this present day. I am also frustrated about how inconsiderate and blind others may be when it comes to the privileges others such as yourself may or may not have. As for myself, I am well off but I can relate to what others may feel when it comes to learning especially when we receive little to no help from teachers or guardians at all. But in spite of all the hardships that we may encounter, I advise you too keep on persevering even when it may seem too aggravating for you to handle. I wish you the absolute best in your studies and I hope that this atrocious pandemic will end soon so that we may rise again. God bless to you and have a good day fellow batchmate!
ReplyDeleteLike you, I am also having a hard time catching up, and answering my modules, and sometimes, forcing ourselves to learn in hours can be unhealthy. But I believe that, we'll get used to this, and we'll be able to learn faster. Keep safe, Russel!
