Ilocos Sur always celebrates the Kannawidan Festival everylast week of January until last week of February. This festival is celebrated in order to preserve the rich culture and tradition of the Ilocanos. It consists of food and trade from different municipalities, street dancing and marching band competition, fair, cultural dances, and a pageant.   This year, it was far different from the previous ones. Due to COVID-19, it was implemented with strict policies and regulations. Sellers were limited, minors were not allowed, rides were not present, and a broadcasted pageant. Although it was not fun according to the citizens, it was for the safety of all and to prevent the spreading of the said virus.

For the previous years, Biguenos always celebrated Vigan City Fiesta without any inconvenience. Enjoying the cultural shows and street dancing participated by every schools and workers inside Vigan, and even outsiders join the competition. Do not forget the various delicacies prepared in a tented trade center, admiring the uniqueness of Vigan City's culture, and a mass attended by many.  This year, it was not the same. It is for the betterness of the town, though. It must be celebrated with limited actions and events. Also, people can celebrate it inside their houses and should not ignore the protocols. If possible, we can go all-out next year's feast and be grateful that the virus is gone.
