Step Up

 After 10 months of distance learning, it has come to an end. I can't say that it was neither good nor bad but hey, I am finally stepping on another chapter of my life, the senior life of high-school. Expecting more hardships, endless tasks, and challenges.

 The pandemic has undeniably awakened enough realizations in my life. How important education is, how people struggle when they're at their worst, and the essence of living. It's just sad that there are still someone that died because of the virus, gave up on life because of loneliness, affects everyone financially, mentally, physically, and economically. But one thing is for sure, there must be someone that still supports them, and that is God. Arms wide open as they reach his sanctuary.

 Depressing as it may seem, we must go on with our lives, continue what they left, and face more challenges. Cheers to another chapter! (Unsure if I passed)

 We are all in the middle of a pandemic. People are losing their lives, some fortunately recovered. Hard workers sacrificing their lives such as doctors, nurses, polices, teachers and other front liners. Poor ones suffering from poverty but still working just to provide their own family’s needs. Majority of schools all around the world are affected and forced to close due to this pandemic. Several months here in the Philippines, the Department of Education and other private schools decided to open and continue schooling. Hey, Earthquake!

  At any time an earthquake might strike us without any warning. No single individual could stop an inevitable disaster. All we could do is to prevent and have a knowledge about preparedness and vigilance.   National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill by the government is always conducted every year. As I have noticed, only few people is taking the activity seriously. Is the "duck, cover and hold" enough for them to save their lives? How would they act in case an earthquake would hit them? I guess, have a chit-chat with a companion first rather than being vigilant.  It is really important to participate, even in a simple preparedness plan or at least have a knowledge on how to act and respond to disasters. I suggest to have a cooperation and not to be a burden, of course, excluding the ones with disabilities and illnesses.

The Usual

 Nothing has changed, actually. Is it necessary to change ourselves yearly? Or people are just used to changing and improving theirselves every New Year?   I always fail my New Year's Resolutions and I do not know if I am already contented with who I am as of the moment. For now, I only want to make my grades better than last year, hone my hobbies; especially in drawing, remove any unwanted traits that shows toxicity and have a good-looking appearance.  We were bombarded by disasters and a pandemic that lead us to lockdown, affecting us in all aspects last year, so wishing it would be gone soon is not a bother also. In spite of that happenings, we became close and fortunately unaffected by the virus so that is a new goal for this year, not to be affected by it.  And hopefully, I can past through this pressure and challenges this year, and reconcile with our happy lives back then, which has a low percentage, apparently.
